As we continue to expand our housing and commercial property portfolio, we are seeking a driven and experienced General Manager of Housing to lead property operations and elevate the tenant experience across our properties.
Position SummaryThe General Manager of Housing is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, leasing strategy, tenant relations, financial performance, and maintenance coordination of residential and commercial properties managed by Braveworks. This leadership role serves as the primary liaison between ownership and property staff, ensuring operational excellence, financial accountability, and a high standard of service for tenants. The General Manager also supervises the Retail and Staffing Manager and collaborates closely with ownership to support growth initiatives and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities- Property & Operations Management
- Oversee all residential and commercial property operations
- Manage rental payments, deposits, non-rent charges, and tenant financial reporting
- Provide ownership with regular reports on leasing performance, financial summaries, property issues, and approvals
- Support budgeting and operational planning efforts
- Hire, train, and supervise property staff
- Maintain service and operational standards
- Assist with retail management in the C-Store and serve as a point of contact for clerks
- Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and professionalism
- Develop and execute marketing initiatives to support occupancy and brand growth
- Maintain brand standards across housing properties
- Manage leasing activities, tenant communications, renewals, and agreements
- Coordinate apartment turnovers including move-in and move-out logistics
- Develop and maintain structured walkthrough schedules (weekly, bi-weekly, quarterly)
- Oversee maintenance coordination and facility standards
- Ensure compliance with landlord-tenant laws and local housing regulations
- Complete administrative requirements with city and regulatory agencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Property Management, Real Estate, or related field preferred
- 3–5 years of property management or real estate experience preferred
- Experience supervising staff and managing leasing operations
- Strong knowledge of property maintenance coordination and financial reporting
- Proficiency in property management software (e.g., App Folio) and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated ability to stay organized and responsive in a dynamic, multi-property environment
- High attention to detail in financial and administrative processes
