Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all aspects of the Facility.
• Oversees efficiency through monitoring production, scanning make-sheets, and discussing daily goals with Superintendents.
• Directs Superintendents with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
• Handles any employee grievance, dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible, working closely with Human Resources department as necessary.
• Maintains acceptable yield levels on all products while producing product to specification.
• Perform daily safety walks and correct any non-compliance issues.
• Help develop the management team of the Facility through active participation in group meetings.
• Trains and develops Superintendents providing guidance on managerial and teamworkskillsto attain department objectives.
• Works closely with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure all product quality and food safety standards are enforced.
• Ensure all policies and the collective bargaining agreement is understood and enforced.
• Must maintain a positive working relationship with government agencies and help address any USDA regulatory issues.
• Contribute to the ongoing development ofJBSpolicies and procedures.
• Communicate to all levels within the organization on information as needed.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent with preferred college degree.
• Minimum 5 years’supervisory experience working in meat industry.

• Strong written and verbal
  
  English communication skills, problem solvingskillsand leadership qualities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and work collaboratively with other.
• Extensive knowledge ofmeat products, equipment and specifications.
• Must be able to work inavery cold,damp andnoisy environment with possible slick floors and frequent exposure to knives, hot water and production machinery.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including some Saturday work.
• Bilingual skills a plusbut not required.
