Parts Processor - Material Handler (Finance)

Position SummaryThe Parts Processor is a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented individual responsible for the accurate and efficient handling, inspection, and preparation of parts for shipping. This role is crucial to the success of the Shipping department, involving a variety of essential duties including material handling, operating a fork truck, loading trailers, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of all outgoing shipments. A positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Shipping & Logistics:
- Load trailers safely and efficiently.
- Move materials throughout the facility using a forklift or non-motorized devices as required.
- Replenish shipping supplies, including plastic sheets, boxes, cartons, and labeling systems.
- Gather, enter, and maintain all shipping and receiving data and records within the warehouse management system.
- Quality & Compliance:
- Inspect and monitor the quality of all parts and processes, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Carefully audit orders and shipping quantities against picking documents to ensure accuracy.
- Strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guarantee the accuracy of all shipping documents.
- Operations & Teamwork:
- Set up and operate equipment as required for parts packaging and processing.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Provide support and assistance to other operators.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven ability to consistently meet production and quality standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of all required operator documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to use all required gauges and gaging techniques.
- Excellent observation skills to proactively prevent production issues, bottlenecks, and quality errors.
- Basic problem‑solving skills to identify and correct routine issues.
- Proficiency in written communication and data entry into a computer system.
- Prior experience in problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Formal mechanical or technical training.
- Experience operating a forklift and/or material‑handling equipment.
- Experience operating multiple types of manufacturing equipment.
