Temporary Insect Packer (Part‑Time)

We are currently seeking three detail‑oriented, dependable individuals for the temporary part‑time Temporary Insect Packer position in our Insect Order Fulfillment Department at our Durand location. As an Insect Order Fulfillment team member, you will play a critical role in ensuring our customers receive healthy, properly packed insects on time. Your primary responsibilities will include packing insect units efficiently and accurately, creating and maintaining fruit fly cultures, receiving cricket deliveries, rotating inventory using FIFO standards, and using web‑based software to manage stock and labeling.

• Packing insect units efficiently and accurately following SOP standards (16–24 hrs/week)
• Making fresh fruit fly cultures efficiently and accurately following SOP standards (0–4 hrs/week)
• Properly receiving cricket deliveries and completing all required steps (1–3 hrs/week)
• Rotating shelf inventory to ensure fresh fulfillment (0–2 hrs/week)
• Occasionally assisting other warehouse departments as needed (0–8 hrs/week)
• Passing regular quality control checks and completing tasks to SOP standards

• Production environment (60–80°F) with variable humidity
• Handling and working around large quantities of live insects
• Pungent odors and dusty conditions
• Standing and walking for long periods
• Repeated lifting of 30+ lbs
• PPE required for certain tasks, including respirator, goggles, N95 mask, gloves, long sleeves, long pants, and closed‑toed shoes
• Must pass respirator fit testing

• Approximately 4–6 weeks to fully train in this role

• Comfort navigating web apps and Google Workspace (we use web‑based systems for clocking in/out, labeling, and task management)
• Full dexterity in arms and hands
• Ability to repeatedly lift 30+ lbs
• Ability to stand and/or walk for full shifts
• Ability to pass respirator fit testing
• Must pass the Nuts & Bolts Assessment

• Previous insect breeding or insect handling experience
