Job Description
Northern Staffing Services, in partnership with Temprel Inc. of Boyne City, are searching for a skilled Deburr Technician / Finishing Technician. This is a full-time, 40+ Hr/week position. Pay ranges from $17-$22/Hr depending on experience. Read on for further details!
Deburr Technician / Finishing Technicians are responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from precision-machined metal parts using various hand and power tools such as drills, Dremels, buffing wheels, and exacto blades. This role also includes cleaning and preparing parts for company transport or customer shipment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently with a high level of accuracy.
This position requires strict adherence to ISO quality standards to ensure consistent part quality and process compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deburr metal parts using hand tools and power tools according to part drawings and specifications
- Inspect finished parts for sharp edges, burrs, and overall finish quality
- Read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and work instructions
- Clean and prepare parts for packaging and transport
- Ensure packaging meets company standards for protection and presentation
- Maintain sufficient stock of cleaning and finishing supplies
- Generate and maintain a materials request list for purchasing
- Keep work area organized, clean, and safe at all times
- Follow all company safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Adhere to ISO 9001 quality standards and company procedures throughout all finishing and packaging tasks
- Prior experience in deburring, finishing, or a similar hands-on manufacturing role preferred
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools with precision
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and part specifications
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to follow documented procedures and quality requirements
- Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
