Bodywork Prep Painter

Signature Truck Systems is looking for an experienced Bodywork Prep/Painter to join our Houghton Lake team. This is a first shift, full time position. Pay is $20-22 per hour.

• Inspect areas to be painted, identifying body repair needs, surface defects, and prep requirements
• Sand, mask, blend, polish, and touch up finishes to specification
• Follow customer-specific direction for color selection and application
• Must wear a respirator; position requires passing a confidential medical questionnaire and respiratory fit test
• Ability to work overtime as business needs require

• Minimum 2 years of experience in truck, tank/vessel, or heavy equipment preparation and painting required
• Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment, including respirator
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential; employees are expected to report to work on time and maintain consistent attendance in support of team operations and production schedules
• Must be able to pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana

This position requires the physical ability to perform the following on a regular basis: repetitive arm movements including holding, reaching, and rotating; frequent standing, walking, stooping, and crouching; climbing ladders; lifting and carrying materials; and maintaining balance in varying work environments. Candidates must be able to sustain these activities throughout the duration of a full shift.

In accordance with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), tight-fitting respirators cannot achieve an adequate facial seal when facial hair is present at the sealing surface. Employees who wear a tight-fitting respirator must be clean-shaven where the device seals to the face. Facial hair that does not interfere with the sealing surface may be acceptable on a case-by-case basis.
