CNC Machining and Fabrication Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a small team of machinists, set priorities, and ensure departmental goals are consistently met
• Use the maintenance system to identify high‑volume parts suitable for in‑house production and determine appropriate inventory levels
• Machine precision parts using lathes, mills, and grinders, while training team members to operate this equipment safely and effectively
• Produce accurate parts by selecting proper tools, planning machining steps, calculating feeds and speeds, and monitoring cutting conditions and lubrication
• Set up, adjust, and operate specialized machining equipment and guide others in performing precision machining tasks
• Inspect finished parts using precision instruments, review blueprints, and maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment while modeling company values

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and five years of related hands‑on experience
• Experience leading or supervising small teams, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD/scanning tools
• Ability to manage and advance CNC programming efforts, including reverse‑engineering parts from physical samples
• Working knowledge of FDM 3D printing, including machine operation, slicer software, materials, and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of machine tools—lathes, mills, grinders—and their operation, maintenance, and applications
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost‑efficient manufacturing practices
• Travel required up to 25%, may require overnight stays
