Location: Riverside
A manufacturer of industrial heat‑treating equipment is hiring for a Welder/Fabricator to join their team in Riverside, MI.
This is a 1st shift opportunity, 6am - 2:30pm.
This position is responsible for the assembly and fabrication of furnaces and other thermal‑processing equipment used across various sectors including aerospace, automotive, defense, and industrial manufacturing.
The Welder/Fabricator will work in a hands‑on capacity in the shop, contributing to the manufacturing process through welding, measuring, material handling, and quality control of heat‑treating systems.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricate, assemble, and weld parts using MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Perform layout and stitch welds according to blueprint specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and accurately measure using a tape measure.
- Inspect and verify conformance of parts and final products to specifications.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided).
- Collaborate with team members on large‑scale projects or work independently when needed.
- Maintain productivity levels and meet production deadlines, including occasional required overtime.
- Follow safety protocols and use equipment properly in a moderate‑noise, high‑movement environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools, welding, and fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including standing, kneeling, and climbing.
- Willingness to wear PPE and respirators as needed.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain quality standards.
- Proficiency with MIG/TIG welding and measuring tools.
- Strong understanding of layout work and fabrication techniques.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Solid communication skills and a commitment to safety.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work priorities and tasks.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
