Welder and Robotic Welder Operator
As a Welder you will be using a variety of welding tools and equipment to cut and join metals and other materials together, primarily focused on MIG welding and plasma cutting to produce steel forms. But the job doesn't end there. As part of a dynamic team, you'll also operate forklifts and overhead cranes, as well as participate in other metal fabrication processes.
This is a skilled position and one that requires flexibility and determination. It’s also a great chance to learn new things and apply a variety of skills each day.
This is a full‑time, year‑round role located in our manufacturing facility in Harbor Springs, MI. Typical work schedule is flexible and could be Monday–Thursday, four 10‑hour days with some Friday work and overtime available.
- Perform welding activities (primarily MIG welding and plasma cutting) for the fabrication of metal forms.
- Manage work with help of wire‑feed welding machines and melt metals for various processes.
- Monitor all welding processes and ensure absence of any shrinkage and distortion to materials.
- Ensure clean weld joint to obtain smooth look.
- Maintain disc grinder and perform all cleaning and grinding of metals.
- Operate various manual and semi‑automatic welding equipment for welding work.
- Ensure proper speed and voltage is used for different weld processes.
- Load and unload robotic arm welder.
- Ensure parts are free from debris to avoid defects.
- Place and secure parts into fixture per specifications.
- Check tooling for proper positioning and initiate cycling.
- Check dimensions and quality when unloading parts.
- Participate in other duties and machine use related to the manufacturing, assembling, and preparing form as necessary.
- Strong attention to detail while using feedback to improve design.
- Works well on a team and pitches in when things need to get done.
- Never cuts corners regarding safety or quality; uses and maintains equipment properly and immediately reports any unsafe conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ related experience or training in welding.
