Job OverviewSummary/Job Scope:
Cleans plant as directed to keep it in a safe operating condition.
- Perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
- High school diploma or GED. Or one‑to‑three months of related experience and/or training. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Promote a safe work environment and participate in all plant safety programs.
- Perform general manual labor throughout the plant and quarry.
- Shovel, sweep, vacuum, jackhammer, and other related tasks.
- Report environmental issues.
- Report safety issues or concerns.
- Assist in any other activities as required.
- Fill in for other classifications when trained and vacancies arise.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Limited expectation of independent decision‑making beyond day‑to‑day operational tasks. Work under the supervision of a Production Supervisor.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo supervisory responsibilities.
Competencies- Language:
Read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, present information to customers, clients and employees. - Mathematical:
Add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. - Reasoning:
Apply common sense to detailed written or oral instructions. - Tools and Equipment:
Use brooms, pick, shovel, bars, sledge hammer, jack hammer, wheelbarrows, drills, hand tools, steam cleaner, supersucker hose, ball screener, chipping gun, water pumps, etc.
Regularly stand and walk; use hands to reach, climb, and manipulate objects; lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Requires close, distance, peripheral and depth vision.
Work EnvironmentThe job requires exposure to moving mechanical parts, weather conditions, extreme heat, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, electrical shock, vibration and high noise levels.
