Continental Dairy Facilities is the first state‑of‑the‑art powder milk and butter facility owned by Select Milk Producers. The plant, located in Coopersville, Michigan, produces over 300,000 pounds of dry non‑fat milk per day. The company places a strong emphasis on quality, sustainability and employee well‑being.
Position LocationCoopersville, Michigan
Schedule & PayNight shift 6:00pm – 6:30am (2‑2‑3 schedule). Must be willing to work weekends and holidays that fall into schedule.
Hourly rate: $33.00 – $38.00 per hour (based on qualifications). Night shift premium: $1.25. Competitive benefit package.
Summary of FunctionsResponsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing all facility and production equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. The role encompasses robotics, fluid movement systems, conveyors, boilers, air compressors, HVAC systems, chemical treatment systems and electrical systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform repairs or preventive maintenance on electrical systems (24
VDC to 480
VAC 3phase), mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC and networks, robotics, boilers and chemical treatment systems. - Read and interpret documents, drawings, procedures and manuals.
- Problem‑solve and troubleshoot equipment.
- Evaluate facilities, equipment and infrastructure to determine need for corrective and/or preventive maintenance work.
- Ensure equipment and machines are properly maintained and in good working order according to manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records.
- Assist with modification or repair work performed by outside contractors, vendors and consultants.
- Communicate effectively with production employees, other maintenance technicians and department management.
- Participate in plant safety, health and environmental programs.
- Capable and willing to work overtime.
- Perform other duties assigned and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least three years’ experience with troubleshooting, control devices, pneumatics, mechanics and electrical repair.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Post‑secondary education and/or technical trade certificate.
- PLC/Logic/automation training certificate.
- Welding certificate or fabrication experience.
- Experience operating a powder dairy plant.
- Prior food production experience.
