Finishing Operator – 2nd shift

This position is responsible for the processing and inspection of castings to ensure they meet or exceed our customer requirements.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 1:00 am

• Inspects castings for defects per work instructions, including external defects, excessive core fin or flash, burn‑in sand, high ingate, etc.
• Operates grinders (hand and pedestal) safely, inspecting equipment for proper adjustment, cracks or chips in the wheel and overall working condition, and reports any problems.
• Places finished parts in designated shipping containers for shipment as specified by work instructions.
• Transfers containers and other material using a forklift as needed, in compliance with relevant work instructions.
• Completes daily inspection checklists when assigned to operate a forklift.
• Operates weigh scale as required.
• Operates shakeout, including separating gates, risers, and castings.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• May be assigned other duties as needed.

• Machining experience with milling and turning experience preferred.
• Previous knowledge of foundry practices, principles, equipment, etc. preferred.
• Basic knowledge of machining processes preferred.

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
• Basic math and blueprint reading experience preferred.
• Ability to add, divide, compute averages, and plot data points; use charts to convert decimals and fractions.
• Basic knowledge of Quality Systems, such as ISO‑9001, preferred.
