Machinist 1
Our client in Clare, MI, is seeking a Machinist 1 to join their team. As a Machinist 1, you will be part of the Industrial department supporting production operations. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range: $19 - $23 an hour, depending on experience
Shift: 6 am to 4 pm, Monday through Thursday, Friday is used for overtime
What's the Job?
- Set up and operate machine equipment including CNC, milling, boring, drilling, tapping, threading, and lathes.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Utilize JD Edwards, work order routings/parts lists, and work order paperwork to complete jobs accurately.
- Program, calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
- Read, interpret, and utilize blueprints to ensure precise manufacturing.
- Perform quality checks, deburr parts, and verify work using machinist measurement tools like calipers and micrometers.
- Float to different areas within the machine shop, directed by supervisor, to ensure that all machining centers are on schedule.
What's Needed?
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related experience or training in machining or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in machine setup and operation, including CNC programming and control adjustments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Ability to verify work using machinist measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc) Maintain tight tolerances as required by engineering and customer specifications
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
