Machinist 2

Our client in Clare, MI, is seeking a Machinist 2 to join their team. As a Machinist 2, you will be part of the Industrial department supporting machining operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location:

Clare, MI

Pay Range: $23 - $28 an hour depending on experience

Shift: 6 am to 4 pm, Monday through Thursday, Friday is used for overtime

What's the Job?

• Set up and operate conventional, CNC, and special purpose machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Train staff on the use and programming of machining equipment to enhance team skills.
• Recommend tooling, fixtures, and process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
• Perform periodic maintenance on all machine shop equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and QC packets to complete tasks accurately and maintain quality standards.

What's Needed?

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical school or 2-5+ years related experience.
• Proficiency in machine setup, operation, and maintenance, including CNC programming and blueprint reading.
• Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists safely.
• Strong mathematical skills, including working with fractions, percentages, and ratios.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers, production personnel, and supervisors.
