Lead Welder Fabricator

Location: Edwardsburg, MI
Pay: Starting at $28.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Lead Welder for one of our manufacturing clients in the Edwardsburg area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional who enjoys hands‑on fabrication, takes pride in producing quality work, and can help lead a team in a fast‑paced production environment.

Our client specializes in the custom fabrication of sheet metal products used in industrial manufacturing applications. The ideal candidate will have strong fabrication skills, leadership experience, and hands‑on experience welding galvanized steel
.

• Perform high‑quality MIG welding on galvanized steel and other sheet metal materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders.
• Lead daily welding activities while promoting quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Fabricate, fit, and assemble custom metal components to precise specifications.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and customer standards.
• Assist with layout, measuring, grinding, and finishing fabricated parts.
• Support and mentor other welders by sharing best practices and maintaining production standards.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to complete projects on schedule.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

• Required: Previous experience welding galvanized steel

• Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Previous Lead Welder or team leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, measuring tools, and welding techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
