2nd Shift General Labor
This role supports production by operating and loading plastic film machines, handling heavy rolls of plastic, and assisting with packaging tasks on the 2nd shift. You will work as a flexible floater, helping wherever needed to keep machines running smoothly, materials moving efficiently, and finished products packaged accurately according to specifications.
Essential Skills- Minimum 6 months of machine operation experience in any production environment.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for measuring materials and cutting to length.
- Capability to lift and handle heavy rolls of plastic weighing around 50 pounds.
- Experience performing manual labor in a manufacturing, production, or general labor setting.
- Comfort working with hand tools for cutting, trimming, and packaging tasks.
- Willingness and physical ability to hustle and keep up with steady production demands.
- Mechanical inclination and comfort working with machines and basic production equipment.
- Reliability and consistency in following instructions and adhering to safety guidelines.
You will join a long-established, family-owned manufacturer that has specialized in custom polyethylene film products for decades, offering a stable and steady workload. The facility provides a clean, dry, and organized environment where safety equipment is supplied and expectations are clear. You will work with a small crew that values teamwork, reliability, and a strong work ethic, giving you the opportunity to learn multiple tasks and grow your skills in a supportive production setting.
This position is on the 2nd shift, working from 3:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., in a manufacturing facility that produces custom polyethylene film products. The environment is described as very clean, dry, and not loud, with steady work and consistent production demands. You will work on and around plastic film machines, handling rolls of plastic, loading and unloading materials, and using basic hand tools and tape measures.
The crew is small, so teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to step into different tasks as needed are important. The pace requires individuals to hustle to keep up with production while maintaining safety and quality. The dress code includes boots, jeans, and a T-shirt or sweatshirt. Safety glasses are required and provided by the employer.
This is a contract to hire position based out of Caledonia, MI. The pay range for this position is $18.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
