Paint Booth Mixer​/Compounder

Job Summary

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Paint Booth Mixer/Compo under positions for a manufacturing company in East Tawas, MI. This is a Temp-to-Hire role.

• Accurately mix chemicals, color pigments, rustproofing materials, and corrosion‑preventive compounds according to established formulas
• Control paint mixing processes and equipment changeovers between batches while making necessary machine adjustments
• Perform in‑process quality inspections to verify paint viscosity, flow, color consistency, and coating quality
• Monitor raw material inventory, track batch yields, identify variances, and request replenishment as needed
• Follow all OSHA and facility safety guidelines while handling paints, sealants, and paint strippers
• Maintain the mixing room and paint booth using the 6S system and perform preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned

$18.00 per hour

2nd Shift, Monday – Friday, 3:30 p.m. – 3:00 a.m. Overtime:
Saturday and/or Sunday as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in paint manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, industrial coatings, or a related field preferred
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to read batch cards, calculate material yields, and make machine adjustments
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast‑paced environment, including standing for extended periods
• Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures and humidity levels
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow all PPE, safety, and quality control requirements
