Salary and Pay

Hourly rate: $18.00 to $28.00 per hour, plus shift premium. Pay depends on experience and skillset.

Responsibilities

As an automatic press operator your primary responsibility is to set up, run, and monitor up to 1,000‑ton presses, ensuring quality stampings are produced per production orders and engineering specifications.

  • Perform all duties to meet daily and weekly production requirements.
  • Set up and adjust stamping press according to die set‑up sheet.
  • Select and verify appropriate steel coils to meet customer requirements.
  • Change steel coils at appropriate intervals to maintain production output.
  • Frequent load, unload, lift/move, pull/push, and/or position products and materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with assistance for heavier objects where needed.
  • Properly pack parts in correct pin/storage containers and adhere to labeling requirements.
  • Complete online work‑center and operator inspection sheets to verify process stability and inspection/gage requirements.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of work area through housekeeping duties.
  • Work and cross‑train on various work centers as required.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and documentation.
  • Meet daily production requirements.
  • Perform additional functions as directed by supervisor/manager.
Job Competencies
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience running stamping presses (Automatic Feed) preferred.
  • Ability to adjust press fingers (preferred).
  • Ability to adjust press speed (required).
  • Ability to set press height (required).
  • Ability to use a variety of gages (functional, go/no‑go) (required).
  • PC and keyboard/mouse skills (required).
  • Ability to frequently lift/move material up to 40 pounds (required).
  • Ability to work as a contributing team member (required).
Language Skills

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.

Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear regularly.
  • Occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, plus ability to adjust focus.
Other Qualifications
  • Lift to 40 lbs.
  • Perform job safely while adhering to company safety standards.
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
Work Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and electrical shock risk. Noise level usually loud; hearing protection required and supplied. Eye protection and steel‑toe safety shoes or boots required.

Shift Hours
  • First shift: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Third shift: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Monday–Friday with occasional overtime expected on Saturdays and Sundays.
