Summary of PositionResponsible for supporting aerospace manufacturing operations by preparing, cleaning, and finishing fabricated parts. Operates sandblasting equipment to remove coatings, rust, scale, and contaminants while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare aerospace components.
- Load, unload, and move materials throughout the fabrication shop.
- Prepare parts for welding, machining, painting, or assembly.
- Inspect parts before and after blasting for quality and defects.
- Maintain blasting equipment and perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
- Follow aerospace specifications, work instructions, and quality procedures.
- Safely operate forklifts, hoists, hand tools, and power tools as required.
- Keep work areas clean and organized following 6S and safety practices.
- Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist fabrication, assembly, and production teams as needed.
- Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED required
- Experience operating sandblasting or abrasive blasting equipment
- Ability to read work orders and follow detailed instructions
- Knowledge of shop safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic mathematical skills
- Must meet Export Control compliance requirements; a "US Person" as defined by ITAR is required
- Ability to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends when necessary
- Ability to work with management to drive location performance
