Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis mills.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and work holding devices.
• Simulate tool paths and verify programs to prevent collisions and ensure part quality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to optimize processes.
• Troubleshoot and debug existing CNC programs and machining processes.
• Create and maintain detailed setup sheets and tooling lists.
• Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary program adjustments.
• Stay current with advancements in CNC technology and programming techniques.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM) for generating G-code.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC mills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
• Experience with various tooling, fixturing, and work holding methods.
• Knowledge of different materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics) and their machining characteristics.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD software for design and simulation (e.g., Solid Works, Fusion 360).
• Familiarity with robotics or automated material handling systems.
• Demonstrated ability to train junior programmers or machinists.
