Salary Range: $58,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Newaygo that are seeking skilled CNC Swiss Lathe Operators. Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts.
• Perform in-process inspections using various metrology tools to ensure part quality and adherence to specifications.
• Load raw materials and unload finished parts, managing material flow efficiently.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and G-code programs to determine operational sequences.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine alarms, tool wear, and part quality issues.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks on machines, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Adjust machine offsets and tooling as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy and optimize cycle times.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3+ years experience operating CNC Swiss-type lathes.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for CNC machines.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, comparators).
• Experience with tool setting, offset adjustments, and minor program edits.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common machining issues.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming.
• CMM operation or advanced inspection experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance.
• Experience training junior operators.
