PURPOSE:

The purpose of this job is to assist various areas within the plant while maintaining efficient production processes in accordance with established policies and procedures, and to meet customer specifications. Day Shift/12-hours, 4:00 AM - 4:00 PM (36 hours one week/48 hours the next week). $21.86/hour starting pay. 3 weeks PTO, prorated based on hire date. 10 paid holidays, plus 1 paid floating holiday.

- Education:
High school diploma or GED required. - Experience:
One year stable work experience in dairy, agriculture, production, or manufacturing preferred.
- Pack and operate packaging and palletizing equipment, making appropriate adjustments as needed.
- Bag and blend finished powder, weigh, sample, seal, palletize, and move pallets (may require forklift or pallet jack).
- Properly label and use computerized inventory tracking system for finished product per customer and company specifications/requirements.
- Keep accurate logs of all quality related checks and verifications.
- Perform quality checks on raw inventory on each load (truck or pipe), unload, and complete appropriate paperwork.
- Load product into tanks and silos and provide support for basic analytical testing on finished product.
- Operate evaporator, Triple C, fluid bed, spray dryers, and other production equipment; monitor temperatures, sample product, and adjust equipment as needed.
- Operate bag house, maintain air, check moving parts, and assist with removal and replacement of bags.
- Assist maintenance with projects and repairs of motors, pumps, and other equipment.
- Store and track product and materials in warehouse according to FIFO inventory systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and perform CIP operations; coordinate with outside sanitation vendor.
- Assist in ensuring food safety and quality practices are maintained, communicate risks or concerns, and comply with regulatory programs.
- Ability to prepare and operate all machinery in plant.
- General knowledge of production/manufacturing methods.
- Knowledge of dryer operation and evaporation processes, preferred but not required.
- Ability to read gauges, record data legibly, and follow established procedures.
- Ability to handle food grade materials following sanitary procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions.
- Operating forklift and pallet jack with proper certification.
- Ability to work varying schedules, including overtime.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with peers and leadership.
- Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and notify appropriate staff.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and assist in various work areas.
- Adhere to documentation procedures for HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and SQF.
- Identify and resolve food safety violations or product quality issues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 12‑Hour shifts; may be longer.
- Standing, sitting, walking, bending/kneeling/crouching, reaching, climbing stairs or ladders, operating machinery, lifting weights.
- Operating a vehicle, monitoring gauges, working at heights, and operating foot controls.
- Good vision, hearing, and color definition; correctable to normal.
- Mobility throughout required work areas.
- Handle multiple tasks and understand mechanical and equipment operations.
- Learn new equipment, calculate, analyze numbers, read, speak, write, comprehend complex information, solve problems, and communicate.
- Work independently, set priorities, and determine work assignments and methods.
- General manufacturing conditions with exposure to chemicals, caustic substances, temperatures ranging from freezing to extreme heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
- Occasional outside work with varying seasonal temperatures.
- Stand for extended periods on slippery tile or concrete floors; exposure to various chemicals.
