Electric Motor Test Technician | Hudson, MI

Join an established team as an Electric Motor Test Technician and play an important role in the assembly and testing of innovative ION Electric Outboard Motors
.

In this role, you’ll work with a variety of tools, equipment, and electrical and mechanical components while assembling, inspecting, and testing motors to ensure they meet the highest quality standards. You may also have the opportunity to support the assembly and testing of marine internal combustion engines.

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components using hand tools, power tools, air tools, fasteners, solder, and other equipment
• Follow assembly instructions, diagrams, quality procedures, and work instructions
• Inspect completed and partially assembled motors to identify defects or quality issues
• Install motors into test tanks and monitor performance during testing
• Measure and evaluate motor performance to ensure quality and reliability
• Operate machines, hoists, air tools, and specialized equipment
• Move and position materials throughout the assembly process
• Work in pre-paint, post-paint, staging, pre-assembly, and shipping areas as needed
• Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a strong focus on quality and accuracy
• Work as part of a team to keep production moving safely and efficiently

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a mechanical, electrical, production, or assembly environment
• Experience working with tools, equipment, mechanical components, or electrical systems
• Ability to read and follow basic instructions, diagrams, and pictures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks
• Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
• Associate's Degree in Electrical, Automotive, or a related field is a plus!

• $20-21/hour based on experience

This is an active, hands-on position. You should be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and working with tools and equipment throughout the day. The position requires frequent lifting or moving of up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds
.

The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical equipment, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical equipment, and varying noise levels. Appropriate safety equipment and hearing protection may be required.
