Global Trade Compliance & Logistics Coordinator

A Day in the Role Start your morning in Grand Ledge, MI reviewing overnight customs updates and aligning import/export documentation for shipments bound across the globe. By mid-morning, you’re confirming domestic freight pickups, collaborating with warehouse teammates to stage outbound crates, and double-checking USMCA certificates of origin. In the afternoon, you process a customer return, receive parts into inventory from the shop floor, and finalize export filings—closing the loop on a smooth, compliant, on-time supply chain.

• Own international logistics end-to-end: manage import and export activities for all global shipments.
• Lead the company’s USMCA compliance program, ensuring all rules-of-origin and documentation requirements are met.
• Coordinate domestic trucking and freight movements across carriers and lanes.
• Pitch in with shipping operations—labeling, packing, and preparing paperwork—when needed.
• Receive purchased components and RS jobs into inventory accurately.
• Receive manufactured parts from the production floor and record them into inventory.
• Process customer return orders and keep records complete.
• Administer and continually improve trade compliance policies and procedures.

Language skills: Comfortable reading and interpreting safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, packing slips, and procedures; able to create clear routine reports/correspondence; confident interacting with customers, delivery personnel, and colleagues.

Math skills: Proficient with basic arithmetic (add/subtract two-digit numbers; multiply/divide by 10s and 100s) and applying calculations to U.S. currency, weights, volumes, and distances.

Reasoning: Apply practical judgment to follow detailed yet straightforward written or verbal instructions and resolve issues that involve a small number of concrete variables in standard situations.
