Job Description:
About the Role:

As an EHS Manager, you will be a key player in shaping a safe, healthy, and engaging work environment for the Wayland, MI, plant, a manufacturer of quality non-dairy creamer products. The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading all EHS programs and initiatives within the plant to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. This role is accountable for ensuring the facility adheres to all governmental and environmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and proactively identifying and mitigating risk.

The EHS Manager also plays a key role in training, continuous improvement, and overall employee engagement regarding safety and environmental performance.

You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:

• Provide leadership for all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve site-wide safety, environmental, and risk management programs, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, powered industrial vehicles (PIV), hot work, and emergency preparedness.
• Oversee workplace incident management, including injury and illness recordkeeping, investigations, corrective actions, safety metrics, and reporting to drive injury reduction and continuous improvement.
• Lead safety audits, hazard assessments, risk assessments, and compliance reviews, partnering with site leadership to identify risks and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency response and business continuity activities, including emergency planning, drills, and incident command responsibilities for critical events.
• Deliver and oversee EHS training programs, ensuring employee certifications, qualifications, and required documentation remain current and compliant.
• Partner with plant leadership, employees, and safety committees to foster a proactive safety culture and drive safety results.

• This is a full-time, on-site role on First Shift, Monday through Friday. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts and weekends.
