3RD SHIFT CNC MACHINIST NEEDED - DUNDEE, MICHIGAN A Leading Automotive Supplier in Dundee, Michigan needs a 3rd Shift CNC Machinist. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation. RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a 3rd Shift Position with opportunities to work on a variety of complex machining projects in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment.
• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers to produce precision components.
• Edit and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, cycle times, and quality.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.
• Develop machining strategies that minimize setups while maximizing productivity.
• Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds appropriate for each job.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, including:
• Micrometers
• Calipers
• Dial indicators
• Vernier measuring tools
• Operate manual shop equipment including:
• Knee mills
• Surface grinders
• Manual lathes
• Band saws
• Hand tools
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S principles.
• Work independently while collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safety-first workplace.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3–5+ years of CNC Machining Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC equipment.
• CNC programming or CNC / CAM editing experience.
• Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and precision measurement.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Word.
