The Social Media Student Ambassador reports directly to the Director of Marketing to create and share content that highlights the campus community. The role includes attending events, capturing photos and videos, and helping promote college activities on social media. Ideal candidates are creative, comfortable on social platforms, and enjoy connecting with others.
Required Qualifications- Familiar with the SMC campus, events, and resources
- High school diploma or GED
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage your time
- Positive attitude and comfortable working with others and independently
- Interested in content creation (photos, video, storytelling)
- Experience with Canva or similar tools
- Familiar with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Attend campus events and capture photos/videos
- Create social media content and support marketing campaigns
- Design simple graphics using Canva or similar tools
- Identify and share story ideas from around campus
- Assist with basic administrative tasks as assigned
- Collaborate with the marketing team on content ideas
- Represent the college in a positive and engaging way
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor
You must be enrolled at the College on a full‑time or part‑time basis (minimum of 6 credit hours during fall and spring semesters and 3 credit hours during the summer semester); contact hours will not be used to meet the 6 credit hour minimum.
High‑school students who are dual enrolled are eligible for student employment. You must also meet the credit hour requirement.
OR
You must be enrolled or continuing your education with a four‑year College partner, on the campus of SMC, and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and at least 1 SMC credit hour during the fall and spring semesters and 3 credit hours and at least 1 SMC credit hour during the summer semester.
All student employees must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 to be eligible for student employment.
