General
Summary:
Director, US New Product Planning, Early Market Development to partner with the Senior Director to prepare early pipeline assets for future US success; shape markets well ahead of launch through early market development and external stakeholder engagement (HCP thought leaders and patient advocacy/community leaders) and help build a new US Business Unit foundation.
Key Responsibilities:- Partner with Senior Director on US planning for early pipeline assets.
- Develop and execute early market shaping strategies pre-launch.
- Identify, prioritize, and map external stakeholders (emerging/established HCP thought leaders, treatment center influencers, advocacy leaders, patient community stakeholders, and other disease-area opinion leaders).
- Design thoughtful, compliant external engagement approaches with medical and patient advocacy teams.
- Synthesize external insights to inform opportunity assessment, patient journey understanding, diagnosis/treatment barriers, treatment ecosystem dynamics, unmet need, and market readiness.
- Define early hypotheses on market development needs, stakeholder education, patient finding challenges, advocacy dynamics, and launch risks/enablers.
- Translate insights into implications for US asset strategy and launch planning; support planning materials and leadership updates.
- Contribute to cross-functional planning (medical, advocacy, market access, analytics, global commercial) and maintain a structured view of stakeholder opportunities, learnings, and market signals.
- Biotech/pharma commercial or new product planning/marketing/market development/field strategy/medical-commercial interface or related.
- Experience supporting pipeline, pre-launch, or early commercial strategy.
- Early market development and external stakeholder engagement.
- Cross-functional experience in matrixed environments.
- Strong communication skills; ability to synthesize into clear recommendations.
- Neurology, rare disease, or other complex specialty market experience.
- Experience engaging/supporting strategy with HCP thought leaders, advocacy organizations, and patient communities.
- US commercial or new product planning experience; specialty/rare disease expertise with complex patient journeys.
- Global/cross-regional collaboration.
- Strategic curiosity; external orientation; insight generation; cross-functional collaboration; market development mindset; execution focus; strong judgment and professionalism.
