Worship Residents Needed

Ada Bible Church is seeking worship residents to join the worship ministry and be part of Ada Bible's residency program. Working closely with a campus worship leader and campus staff, you will participate in worship leading, program planning and implementation, volunteer coordination and care, and professional development—all essential foundations for ministry in the local church ministry.

Through real-world ministry involvement, intentional leadership development, mentoring, and spiritual formation, residents grow in clarity of calling, competency in ministry skills, and Christlike character—preparing them for faithful service to Jesus and His Church.

In addition to their worship-specific role, worship residents participate in Ada Bible Church's broader residency program, which provides weekly leadership development sessions, mentorship, and community with other ministry residents.

Ada Bible Church's residency program exists to help individuals pursue God's call to vocational ministry through hands-on ministry experience, intentional leadership development, and a deepening relationship with Jesus. Residents are challenged to grow not only in skill and responsibility, but also as leaders, servants, and faithful followers of Christ.

This is a part-time temporary position offered up to 20 hours per week for the August 2026 - May 2027 ministry season with potential for a second ministry season of August 2027-May 2028.

Applicants must have availability during the listed times:

  • Weekends – Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and Sunday evenings (residents won't serve every week at these times, but primary leadership environments occur during this time)
  • Weekdays (Tues/Thurs) – Primary in-office days are Tuesday and Thursday with some flexibility
    • Starting in September thru the first week in May, weekly on Tuesdays from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, you will meet with other ministry residents at Ada Bible Church for leadership development.

What you will do:

  • Serve regularly on bands and lead worship for a variety of ministry events, including the weekend services, student ministry, and adult ministries of Ada Bible
  • Participate in worship team meetings to gain insight into collaborative ministry planning
  • Grow as a leader and musician through mentorship, musical training, and goal-setting conversations
  • Assist in creative programming, set planning, and service execution for the different worship experiences
  • Support the care, development, and training for student musicians
  • Play a key role in all-church serving opportunities such as Easter, Christmas, and other major events
  • Attend quarterly meetings with the department residency program coordinator focused on leadership development and growth
  • Participate in Tuesday afternoon residency leadership development program focused on leadership development and group-based project work
  • Apply what you learn in the residency leadership development program within the context of your role and responsibility in your assigned ministry area
  • Engage in regular mentoring relationships with assigned leaders
  • Demonstrate a teachable posture by receiving feedback, coaching, and guidance
  • Actively reflect on calling, character, and competency as part of vocational discernment

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about the worship of God, growing in their leadership, and learning how to lead, build, and develop a thriving worship ministry. To be considered for the position, you should be interested in pursuing vocational ministry as a career. Previous experience or formal education in ministry or worship is preferred but not required.

Beyond that, ideal candidates are:

  • Actively pursuing a vibrant relationship with Christ, building it on prayer and a Biblical foundation
  • Humble and teachable; willing to receive regular constructive feedback and follow-up on goal-setting processes
  • Comfortable leading worship vocally and from an instrument (or learning to lead from an instrument)
  • Interested in investing in others, building community, and seeing people grow
  • Hungry to grow in leadership abilities, practical skills, and ministry experience
  • Desire to work hard, but also likes to have fun in the process
