Stepdown Registered Nurse - Grass Lake, Michigan

Location: Grass Lake

Make a difference in patient outcomes by providing high-quality clinical care in a specialized stepdown and progressive care setting. This contract nursing position offers the chance to work with patients who require close monitoring and skilled intervention in a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and standardized protocols

Responsibilities:

• Monitor, assess, and care for patients transitioning from intensive care to a lower acuity setting
• Recognize and respond to clinical changes rapidly and efficiently
• Administer medications, perform interventions, and manage ventilators or drips as indicated
• Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and patient families for comprehensive care planning
• Educate patients and families on condition management and post-discharge instructions
• Accurately document patient status, care provided, and responses to interventions
• Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a safe, healing environment for patients
