Surgical Nurse

Required Qualifications:

• Active Michigan RN License at time of submission
• Current BLS Certification
• Previous Operating Room (OR) Circulating experience
• Experience with:
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • OB/GYN Surgery
  • General Surgery

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with:
  • Urology Procedures
  • Ophthalmic Surgery
• Previous travel nursing experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver quality patient care utilizing the nursing process throughout the perioperative period
• Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures
• Maintain sterile and safe surgical environments
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure optimal patient care
• Adhere to facility policies, regulatory standards, and professional nursing practice guidelines
• Accurately document patient care and surgical events

Surgical Services Environment:

• Supports both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures
• Provides care for adult and pediatric patients
• Emergency surgical coverage available 24/7
• Exposure to a variety of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, ophthalmology, urology, ENT, gastroenterology, podiatry, and oncology-related procedures
