Job Overview
Travel Nurse RN – Labor & Delivery (Grayling, MI) – 13 weeks, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts.

Provide comprehensive patient care in the obstetric setting. Responsibilities include assessing maternal and fetal health, administering treatment, collaborating with the clinical team, and ensuring high‑quality, patient‑centered care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
Responsibilities- Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques.
- Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
- Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols.
- Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
- Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
- Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.
- One year of recent experience as a Labor & Delivery RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification.
- STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC).
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
- Physical Abilities:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. - Interpersonal
