Assistant Director of Nursing - Up to $95,000 a year (Clarkston, MI)
As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will assist with planning and supervising the twenty‑four‑hour operation of the facility to ensure the delivery of quality resident care. This position acts as a resident advocate by managing resident care as well as hiring, guiding, developing, and evaluating your nursing team.
This position will be in charge of Infection Control. As the infection control nurse, you will specialize in identifying, controlling, and preventing outbreaks of infection. This position will assist with modifying the treatment regimen to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of residents, in accordance with established medical practices and state and facility requirements.
You will earn:
- $90,000 – $95,000 per year base salary

How you will help people every day:
- Assess residents to ascertain their condition and ensure nursing care is carried out as directed.
- Implement standards of nursing practice through policy and procedure formulation and maintain required department records.
- Develop and revise infection control policies and procedures.
- Investigate suspected outbreaks of infection.
- Provide consultation on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies.
- Keep abreast of trends and developments in long‑term care patient‑care techniques; follow federal and state regulations.
- Coordinate and present general facility new‑hire orientation programs to all new employees.
- Develop and deliver clinical orientation and training for new nursing team members, including classroom training on specific policies, procedures, and techniques; observe, assist, and assess new team members’ performance.
- Research, design, and implement in‑service programs on requested topics to reinforce operational policies, introduce new techniques, or address identified deficiencies.
- Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in daily interactions with guests, their families, and visitors, creating a positive, healthy environment.
- Supervise the nursing team, give direction and assignments, offer training, and deliver recognition and evaluations.
What you will need to be part of our EPIC team:
- Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, or higher, and a superior knowledge in nursing management to manage resident care and large, diverse groups of nursing personnel.
- Current RN license in Michigan; CPR‑BLS certification.
- 3+ years of experience in a long‑term care facility.
- Clinical knowledge of long‑term care nursing, with ability to anticipate, recognize, and respond to resident needs in a long‑term care and rehabilitation environment.
