SummaryThe Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) delivers rapid‑response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department setting. This role involves assessing patient conditions, implementing urgent care plans, administering life‑saving treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient, patient‑centered care during critical situations. The ER RN demonstrates strong clinical skills, exceptional critical thinking, superb communication under pressure, and a commitment to the highest standards of patient safety and professional ethics.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as an ER RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification.
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications.
- Other certifications or licenses that may enhance performance in this position.
- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity.
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved protocols.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during emergency treatments and examinations.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs.
- Observe and document patient conditions, vital signs, and clinical interventions.
- Respond to life‑saving situations in accordance with emergency nursing standards, policies, and protocols.
- Document comprehensive assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR.
- Initiate patient education plans based on individualized needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers, and support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
- Remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50–100 lbs).
- Push, pull, and bend as required.
- Work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism.
- Perform fine manipulation and assist with procedures or equipment use.
- Handle frequent contact with the public while meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Work under close supervision occasionally, and independent when needed.
- Maintain concentration during irregular activity schedules.
- Possess adequate visual acuity and effective communication skills.
