RN Nurse, ICU Nurse
Job Description:
Step into a 13-week travel contract as a Med Surg RN in Iron River, Michigan—covering a 25-bed unit with a shift rhythm built for night owls. This role runs on 12-hour nights with 72 hours per week, with floating to the ED within your competency when needed. You’ll care for a patient mix that commonly includes geriatric cases involving CHF or COPD, plus diabetes-related activity on the Med Surg floor.
Expect a charting-and-workflow-forward assignment using Care Scape patient monitors, Epic EMR, and Pyxis for medication distribution. The schedule includes every other weekend/holiday rotation, and there may be low census situations where you’re placed on call, with a minimum two-hour call back.
To be successful, you’ll bring 2+ years of Med Surg experience and must have ICU and ER experience. ACLS is preferred (not required). Required credentials include a current Michigan RN license and AHA BLS—then you’re ready to bring your skills to a unit that keeps you moving through the night, case by case.
