Position Overview
Bronson South Haven Hospital Emergency Department seeks an RN to provide compassionate, patient‑centered care to individuals with urgent and emergent medical needs in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
What You'll Do- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
- Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care based on patient acuity.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards.
- Monitor patient condition and respond quickly to changes.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs.
- Delegate appropriate tasks within scope of practice.
- Accurately document patient care and outcomes.
- Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; BSN required within eight (8) years of hire. - Licensure:
Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. - Certifications:
BLS required upon completion of orientation;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 6 months of hire (for full‑time and part‑time RNs).
- Within 90 days of hire: SALT Triage, ESI Triage, NIH Stroke Scale.
- Within 6 months of hire: ACLS, PALS, TNCC.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision‑making skills.
- Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
- Ability to interpret clinical data and develop appropriate plans of care.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced emergency care environment.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting and patient handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work in an environment requiring sustained concentration and attention to detail.
- Perform nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and coordinate care provided by other professionals.
- Delegate selected acts, tasks or functions that fall within scope of professional nursing practice.
- Provide selected aspects of physical care and document care delivery during each tour of duty.
- Execute emergency protocols such as SALT triage, ESI triage, NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS, PALS, TNCC.
- Assist with scrub RN duties: interpret procedure card, assess equipment, support surgical team, perform in multiple services.
- Complete swing bed documentation and manage care differences between swing bed and in‑patient/observation patients.
Full‑time, scheduled weekly hours, with night shift differential and $10/hour night shift differential and up to $20,000 sign‑on bonus.
