Pre‑Op, Post‑Op, PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process for all patients in the unit.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and delegate tasks within scope of practice.
• Document patient responses, resource utilization and anticipated needs during each tour of duty.
• Perform and manage direct patient care, providing physical care within scope of professional nursing practice.
• Communicate effectively in verbal, written and electronic form with patients, families and team members.
• Manage patient care plans, including discharge planning and coordination with continuum of care services.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and use results to improve patient care.
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and peer review.
• Serve as a patient advocate and uphold ethical standards in all care activities.
• Collaborate with health‑care professionals to improve patient outcomes.
• Support the Surgical team as a Scrub RN when required, including equipment management and procedural support.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required;
  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred and must be obtained within 8 years of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing in the state of Michigan.
• BLS certification upon completion of core orientation; ALS or critical‑care certification may be required for some units.
• Strong ability to read, interpret and analyze data from patient monitoring systems.
• Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
• Ability to manage physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and working in a high‑fatigue environment.
• Demonstrated competence in nursing care for patients with varying acuity and complexity.

Full‑time, 40 hours per week with shift variable time type. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
