In this role, you'll provide nursing support within a school community, with your primary clinical responsibilities centered around a student who requires ongoing medical monitoring and support during the school day.

Rather than managing a high patient volume or moving from room to room throughout a shift, you'll have the opportunity to become familiar with the student's needs, follow an established care plan, and help ensure health needs don't prevent participation in school.

You'll also work alongside teachers, administrators, families, and Health Bar's clinical team — becoming a trusted part of the student's broader support system.

Healthcare doesn't have to mean long shifts, unpredictable schedules, nights, weekends, or constantly rushing to the next patient.

This role follows the school-year calendar for approximately 37 weeks per year, meaning:

• Approx $38.20/hr based on 37.5 hours per week over a 37-weeks

You'll provide skilled nursing support within the school environment, including:

• Providing individualized nursing care based on established health and care plans
• Monitoring the student's health status throughout the school day
• Monitoring for changes in muscle strength, breathing, or overall condition
• Providing support and monitoring during eating and drinking
• Monitoring the student's tolerance for physical activity and responding appropriately to changes
• Administering medications as prescribed
• Completing routine medication passes during the school day
• Assessing and responding appropriately to illness, injuries, or changes in condition
• Maintaining accurate health records and documenting care provided
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, family members, and other members of the student's support team
• Supporting safe participation in classroom activities and daily school routines
• Assisting with general school health needs in the health office during periods when the student does not require direct nursing support

This position is primarily focused on supporting a student with congenital myasthenic syndrome, a condition that can cause muscle weakness and may affect breathing, eating, and physical activity.

The student is stable and independent, with the RN's role focused primarily on monitoring and supporting the student throughout the school day, particularly around eating, drinking, and activity. The role also includes a few routine medication passes.

During periods when the student does not require direct nursing support, the RN will assist with appropriate health office and school nursing responsibilities.
