Medical Staff Position

Skywood Recovery Center is a residential treatment facility offering integrated treatment for addiction and mental health conditions. This position is responsible for assessing patients medical needs, monitoring medications, administering and tracking TB skin tests, monitoring random drug screens, and assisting medical providers as needed.

Essential duties include completing medical screening and/or assessment of new patients immediately upon admission, monitoring medication process for individuals living in residential facilities, preparing medication administration records, providing on-going patient education regarding medications, implementing and monitoring procedures for random urine drug screens, participating in weekly staff and clinical meetings, and cross-training and supporting other areas as needed or requested by Manager.

Knowledge, skills and abilities include demonstrating a broad base of knowledge in psychiatric and addiction treatment and administration, ability to build relationships with diverse individuals and groups, understanding need for and maintaining appropriate confidentiality at all times, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands, general knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations, understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and the ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into the organization.

Education and experience include an associate's or bachelor's degree required, unencumbered state of Michigan LPN or RN license, and minimum 3 years of experience working in psychology/psychiatry or related field preferred.
