About the Unit
The Emergency Department at Pennock Hospital has 12 beds and operates as a fast‑paced Level 3 trauma center. It treats a wide variety of emergency medical conditions, including animal bites, seizures, broken bones, drug overdoses, and burns.

Scope of WorkProvides nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legal standards in Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds ANA standards including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) ENA Emergency Nurses 1 year required
