Experienced Nurse Practitioner
Total Urgent and Primary Care
Imlay City, Michigan
Total Urgent and Primary Care is seeking an experienced and dependable Nurse Practitioner to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing both urgent and primary care services in a very busy outpatient setting and must be DOT certified.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and routine medical concerns.
- Provide urgent care and primary care services to patients of all ages.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and follow-up visits.
- Order and interpret laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, and other appropriate studies.
- Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Perform DOT/CDL medical examinations in accordance with current FMCSA requirements.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Provide patient education and clearly explain diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up instructions.
- Collaborate professionally with physicians, medical assistants, and administrative staff.
- Follow all clinical, safety, privacy, and infection-control policies.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Michigan Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current controlled-substance and DEA registrations, if required for the services provided.
- Current BLS certification.
- Active DOT Medical Examiner certification and listing on the FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
- Previous experience in urgent care, primary care, family medicine, emergency medicine, or a similar outpatient setting.
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently.
- Professional, compassionate, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.
