This position is limited to 1000 hours per year, the schedule is 20-25 hours/week

Do you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in maintaining beautiful 18-hole golf courses? Oakland County Parks and Recreation is seeking dependable and hardworking Golf Course Grounds Workers to help maintain Springfield Oaks Golf Course. In this hands-on role, you'll work alongside an experienced grounds team to keep the course in outstanding condition while helping create an exceptional experience for golfers and park visitors.
If you enjoy working with landscaping equipment, staying active, and seeing the results of your work every day, this is a great opportunity to spend your time outdoors in one of Oakland County's premier parks.
- Assist with the daily maintenance and upkeep of Springfield Oaks Golf Course, grounds, and surrounding park facilities
- Operate groundskeeping equipment, including mowers, tractors, trimmers, blowers, rakes, and other landscaping tools
- Perform mowing, trimming, raking, landscaping, and general grounds maintenance to keep the course in excellent condition
- Set up, move, and maintain park and recreation equipment as needed
- Follow established safety procedures while utilizing County technology and department software to complete daily responsibilities
- Spend your workday outdoors on one of Oakland County's premier golf courses
- Build hands-on experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, and parks operations
- Work with a supportive team dedicated to maintaining exceptional recreational facilities

Minimum Qualifications EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES RequiredMinimum Qualifications
- Must have passed their 18th birthday OR be at least 16 years old and a high school graduate or the State requirements for a G.E.D. certificate; OR be an emancipated minor.
- Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license. Out of country driver’s license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver’s license before the hire date.
- Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
- Reasonable knowledge of customer service interactions and ability to communicate with others.
- Some knowledge of the use of elementary hand and power tools.
- Reasonable knowledge of and ability to practice standard safety techniques.
- Reasonable ability to perform routine, repetitive, and/or manual tasks.
- Reasonable ability to maintain personal cleanliness and a presentable public appearance.
- Reasonable ability to follow standardized oral and written instructions.
- Reasonable ability to work and cooperate in a team effort, when necessary, to successfully complete an assignment.
