Dog Walker

We are looking for someone who already loves these streets.

A Birmingham and Bloomfield dog walking route. Weekdays, school hours, the same dogs every week.

There is a particular hour in Birmingham, somewhere between the last school drop-off and the first car home, when the whole neighborhood goes quiet.

The sidewalks empty. The light comes sideways through the oaks around Quarton Lake. And behind about forty front doors between here and Franklin, a dog is standing at a window, waiting.

That hour is the job.

We want to hire someone who is already here. Not out of fussiness, but because a five minute drive to your first visit beats a thirty-five minute one every single day, for as long as you stay with us. That time is yours. We would rather you keep it.

So this role is genuinely only open to people living in Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Franklin, Bingham Farms or the Bloomfields.

• Monday through Friday, roughly 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Six to eight visits a day, all of them within a few square miles
• The same homes and the same dogs every week - this is your route, not a rota
• An occasional Saturday morning
• You will know which one hides the leash, which one will not walk past the corgi on Pilgrim, and which one needs an extra minute before you go

• You live in one of the neighborhoods above
• Your midday is genuinely free, Monday to Friday, 10:30 to 2:30
• A reliable car, a valid license, and a clean driving record
• You are happy to be background-checked, because every single one of us has been
• You can lift, bend, and stay on your feet in February

• $15.00 per hour
• Paid drive time between every visit - your time on the clock is our cost, not yours
• Trained properly and paired with a Team Leader before you are ever alone on a route

This is not a job for someone who wants to love dogs from a comfortable distance. You will be outside in the rain and outside in February. You will clean up things you would rather not. You will be the person who notices that the fourteen year old shepherd on Henrietta is slower this week than last, and you will be the one who has to say so.
