Are you fluent in barks, meows, and the occasional hiss? Do you have a heart bigger than a Great Dane and the reflexes of a caffeinated squirrel? Then you might be just the superhero sidekick we’re looking for at Grass Lake Animal Hospital in the charming village of Grass Lake, Michigan.

We’re on the hunt for a Licensed Veterinary Technician or an Experienced Veterinary Assistant who doesn’t mind a little fur on their scrubs and knows the difference between a pit bull and a porcupine (important). You’ll work alongside veterinarians and fellow animal lovers to:

• Cuddle stressed-out critters (yes, it’s a job requirement)
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked- because no one wants to search for the thermometer after the patient arrives
• Take vitals and assist during exams and procedures
• Assist Doctors with surgeries
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and feces
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering phones
• Educate pet parents without using too much Latin
• Provide TLC to both four-legged and two-legged clients

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Animal Care or related field is a plus.
• Licensed in the state of MI and in good standing with the board for all LVTs
• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is a must.
• Physical ability to lift and handle animals of varying sizes
• You’re not squeamish (because things will ooze)
• You know how to keep your cool during a Chihuahua tantrum
• You’re a team player with a strong stomach and a soft heart
• Bonus points if you can do all this while holding a cup of coffee
