Job Description
King Steel is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Safety Coordinator to support and enhance our company-wide safety culture. This onsite position will work closely with Human Resources, Quality, and department leadership to coordinate safety initiatives, maintain compliance procedures, support employee engagement, and promote a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, hands‑on manufacturing safety experience, and a strong understanding of 5S safety protocols.

- Lead and promote compliance with company safety policies and 5S safety protocols throughout all departments.
- Work closely with Human Resources on employee safety initiatives, safety documentation, workplace investigations, onboarding, and training coordination.
- Assist with new‑hire safety orientation and onboarding training to ensure employees understand company safety expectations, procedures, and policies.
- Collaborate with HR and Quality teams to support compliance efforts, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct incident reporting and investigations involving near misses, property damage, workplace injuries, safety concerns, and corrective actions.
- Prepare, organize, and present monthly safety meetings and company‑wide safety communications.
- Coordinate and conduct annual safety training for all employees, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
- Order, track, and maintain inventory of safety supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Develop and introduce strategic safety initiatives focused on continuous improvement and risk reduction.
- Perform routine safety audits, inspections, and observations to identify and correct workplace hazards.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and training documentation.
- Assist with OSHA‑related compliance and safety program administration as needed.
- Previous experience in workplace safety coordination, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience with 5S safety protocols (required).
- Experience conducting incident investigations and safety reporting.
- Ability to confidently present training sessions and safety meetings to employees.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic reporting/documentation systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments, especially Human Resources.
- 5+ Years of experience in a similar role.
