Position Title
Quality Engineer
Reports ToQuality Manager Print Employee Name
Summary- Participation in QS department activities, including quality control and customer technical service.
- Provide expertise and guidance to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for efficiency and productivity improvement, as well as continuous quality improvement.
- Institute and monitor quality system including but not limited to:
- Performing QMS internal audits.
- Update and distribute internal / external standards and specifications.
- Track / review quality standard operating procedures.
- Initiate corrective actions / distribute to appropriate departments, conduct follow-up.
- Document controller of QMS documents, including writing, updating and distribution or posting on the network of such documents.
- Investigate / initiate claimed material concerns (internal and external), through the customer concern log.
- Monitor and manage claims when called upon by the Quality Manager.
- Mill / customer on-site contact, as needed.
- Interface with Inside Sales, Production and Maintenance Department.
- Provide internal and external Quality improvement communication.
- Participate in Control Plan and PFEMA reviews, document updates.
- SPC / Data trending.
- Create Control Plans and PFEMA’s as needed.
- Perform IMDS updates, as required.
- Support IATF 16949 activities.
- Perform other activities as directed by Quality manager.
- SPC and MSA activities.
- PPAP’s.
- Spec Approvals.
- Feed forward maps.
- Testing as needed.
- Run @ Rate as needed.
- Has the authority to stop production if necessary to correct quality or safety problems.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC and MSA) skills.
- Computer skills.
- Quality Management System expertise.
- Good communication and organization skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of steel making, processing, stamping, and welding.
- Adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Arriving punctually at work and having a good attitude is mandatory.
- Establish a positive and professional working relationship with division personnel; maintain professionalism with department employees, customers, vendors, and management.
5 years’ experience in Q.C. or production of steel service center.
Training- Basic Orientation
- IATF 16949 Internal Auditor Training
- QMS Document Training or Experience
