Position: Quality Technician (12 Hour Nights- Rotating Weekends)

Job Purpose

Entry‑level position providing key support for the Quality department. Responsibilities include water testing, raw milk testing, pasteurized load‑out testing, finished product testing, microbiological testing, chemical titrations, work‑in‑process testing, daily reporting, data entry, filing, project assistance, special studies, calibrations, and inter‑departmental communication.

Responsibilities
  • Operate laboratory testing instrumentation safely and efficiently, including moisture/solids, protein, fat, pH, and Foss analytical equipment.
  • Perform daily quality line sampling, evaluations, and testing on the plant floor.
  • Prepare all solutions and media required for laboratory tests.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations of finished products.
  • Record accurate laboratory results in the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
  • Notify the Quality Assurance Manager and operations supervisors of any unusual results or defects and perform required re‑checks.
  • Perform raw milk testing/screening per fairlife and the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO), ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify approved incoming raw milk producers and maintain confidentiality per the Company Letter of Confidentiality.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and well‑stocked work area.
  • Communicate results in a timely, confidential, and professional manner.
  • Report damages, irregular activities, or unsafe conditions to supervisors or managers immediately.
  • Follow all safety, work, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and GLP rules.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
Skills & Qualifications
  • College degree highly preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in English, comfortable with both written and verbal communication.
Working Conditions &

Physical Requirements
  • 40–45 hours per week, including sitting, standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Assistance available.
Food Safety Responsibilities
  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments affecting product quality or food safety.
  • Observe and comply with handling and usage of the color‑coded container policy in production areas.
  • Perform duties necessary to meet company, customer, and government requirements.
  • Initiate action to prevent nonconformities related to food safety and quality.
  • Identify and record any food‑safety or quality problems.
  • Control processing or delivery of nonconforming product until resolution.
  • In absence, another employee with same skill level will assume duties.

Base Pay Range

$25.50 – $25.50 USD per hour
