Quality Technician
The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that stamped metal products meet company and customer quality standards. This position performs inspections, tests, and documentation to verify product conformity, supports production teams in resolving quality issues, and helps maintain compliance with quality management systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plex check sheet requirements.
- Clocking in and out of production jobs while performing inspection.
- Placing suspect/Non-conforming product on hold in plex.
- Use inspection tools such as optical comparators, hand measuring devices, checking fixtures, tensile machine, pushout machine, torque wrenches, hardness tester, ultra-sonic tester.
- Perform accurate 1st piece, in-process & last off inspections in plex.
- Tag 1st piece / last piece parts.
- Perform last piece reviews with supervisors/die maintenance to drive re-active maintenance.
- Understand blue prints, GD&T.
- Use all applicable measuring devices to monitor product quality.
- Properly perform all part inspections as required.
- Provide daily end of shift quality notes.
- Perform daily plex activity check sheets.
- Placing material on hold when required and executing scrap in plex.
- Clocking in and out of production plex module while performing inspection.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Team player.
- Good attendance.
- Self-starter.
- Manage qc inspection workload.
- Attention to detail while reviewing parts during inspections for all criteria.
- Excellent communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of quality inspection experience, preferably in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
Hours:
Monday-Friday 3:30pm-2am. Second shift premiums.
