INRAE Presentation
INRAE, Institut National De Recherche Pour L'agriculture, L'alimentation Et L'environnement, is a public research organization that brings together 12,000 collaborators within 272 units spread across 18 centers in France. As the world's leading specialized organization in agriculture, food, and the environment, INRAE plays a key role in supporting the necessary transitions in the face of global challenges.
Faced with population growth, food security issues, climate change, resource scarcity, and biodiversity decline, INRAE is committed to developing scientific solutions and supporting the evolution of agricultural, food, and environmental practices.
Important:
These positions are open exclusively to civil servants and permanent employees in the three public sectors.
You will carry out your activities within the Horticultural Experimental Unit (UEH) located in the heart of the 3rd French basin for apple and pear production, and in the largest French basin for ornamental horticulture production. As part of a collective of 18 people in an INRAE experimental unit in Angers, you will join a team of 9 dedicated to the management and monitoring of perennial crops in orchards and ornamental horticulture.
The team is led by a team leader and works on field devices in connection with experimental activities. The UEH extends over 3 communes of Maine-et-Loire, within a 25-kilometer radius, implanted on 2 distinct sites: one in the communes of Beaucouzé and Angers, the other site in the commune Les Hauts d'Anjou. You will work on apple, pear, and quince orchards as well as ornamental shrubs such as roses.
The work carried out is both in classical agricultural practices and in experimental protocols requiring precise monitoring of crops and regular observations. You will thus contribute to the implementation and evaluation of experimental devices by ensuring precise and regular monitoring of crops, essential for the research activities conducted on arboriculture production systems. This position directly contributes to the production of reliable data for research on perennial crops, plant health, and the improvement of cultivation practices.
It requires rigorous work in the field, essential to ensure the quality of experiments and the relevance of scientific results. In this context, you will be in charge of the following activities:

- Drive agricultural machinery (tractors and associated tools) for plot work
- Ensure the routine maintenance of equipment and report maintenance needs
- Manage stocks and contribute to the good organization of equipment and consumables
Your workplace will be based in Angers, but occasional trips are expected to the site of Les Hauts d'Anjou.
