Dining Services Manager & Assistant Dining Services Manager
The cook prepares meals for residents and their families. The cook is responsible for serving residents according to correct diet orders. The cook is also in charge of dining services staff when managers are not present.
Hours of WorkThe hours of duty are as scheduled including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities- Prepares all meals according to the recipes.
- Start and finish shift on time.
- Demonstrates leadership.
- Adheres to dining services uniform policy.
- Fills out required paperwork.
- Prepares all food required to be prepped.
- Serves all meals in the appropriate dining rooms.
- Presents food in an appetizing manner.
- Follows spread sheets for each diet.
- Follows resident dietary orders.
- Assistant cooks are responsible for salads and desserts.
- Is responsible for setting up appropriate dining areas after meals.
- Is responsible for knowing how to use equipment in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Communicates well with other staff, residents, families, and guests.
- Adheres to all safety and sanitary regulations governing storage, handling and serving of food and utensils.
- Use proper procedures for closing up the kitchen and cleaning before leaving.
- Perceives and reports need for repair of dietary equipment by filling out a work request.
- Performs assigned cleaning tasks.
- Reports any unusual request, behavior, or activity with the residents to the nurse in charge.
- Reports supply shortages to the dietary supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
- Attends mandatory dietary in-services.
- Attends Snyder Village In-Service meeting as required by dietary supervisor.
- Meets on a one on one basis with dietary supervisor or assistant for an evaluation yearly.
- Ability to communicate in English via telephone, in writing and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, residents and their families and any outside customers.

Frequently required to stand or walk. Occasionally required to sit, use hands and or fingers, reach with arms and hands, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision and depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to utilize a phone when necessary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to blood and other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
QualificationsMinimum Training, Experience and Certification Requirements
Experience in food service is helpful but not required.

Insurance Programs
Health: There are 2 options for medical insurance, a PPO, and a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). The PPO offers a $1500 deductible with a max out-of-pocket of $4500. All preventative care services are covered at 100% by insurance. All generic prescriptions are a $10 copay. Most Carle providers would be in-network.
HDHP: The HDHP plan offers $3,800 deductible with a max out-of-pocket of $6,100. All preventative care services are covered at 100% by insurance. Most Carle providers would be in-network. This plan also works with our Health Savings account.
Health Savings Account: Snyder Village offers a health savings account through EPIC! If a staff member is contributing to the H.S.A. Snyder Village (SV) will also contribute to their balance. SV offers $0.50 for every $1 a staff member contributes up to $1300 per year.
Dental: Dental coverage is through the Guardian network. Offering a deductible of $50 for in-network services and 100% covered preventative care services.
Vision: VSP coverage is through Guardian but with the VSP network. Exams are a $10 copay with any in-network provider. Exams are covered once every 12 months, lenses once every 12 months, and frames are covered once every 24 months.
